2008 saw Suzanne Shaw scoop the title ‘queen of the Ice’ in front of 13 million viewers of ITV1’s hit show Dancing On Ice.
Singer, actress, dancer and model Suzanne was recently crowned Celebrity Mum of the Year and is the new face and body of top lingerie firm Ultimo’s new brand; ‘Michelle for George’
Suzanne first burst onto our screens as one of the successful winners of Popstars and went on to be a part of the band Hear'Say. A successful actress and singer, Suzanne appears regularly on stage and screen.
Trained at the Lupino Dance School, Suzanne Shaw was born on 29th September 1981 in Bury, and began her professional career by singing in an Abba tribute band.
Her big chance came when in late 2001 the ITV show called Popstars, gave an opportunity for contestants to become part of a newly formed pop band. Suzanne attended the auditions and successfully made it through several elimination rounds. She was chosen as one of the five finalists and became one of the members of Hear'Say, as the band became known. Other members were Noel Sullivan, Myleene Klass, Danny Foster and Kym Marsh.
She made many appearances with the band in TV and live performance venues, including in 2002 Hear'Say: A New Chapter in Full, The Hear'Say Story, Hear'Say It's Saturday! and the Royal Variety Performance for television in 2001. Hear'Say were also awarded Record of the Year in that year.
The band split at the end of 2002, and in July 2003 Suzanne, landed a leading role in the remake of the Summer Holiday musical in London's West End, and later in a UK tour of the show.
Her TV acting appearances have included City Central, Holby City, The Courtroom and The Bill.
In February 2005, Suzanne took on the role of narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, in the London’s West End. Suzanne toured the UK in 2006 in a new production of the Rocky Horror Show and in June earlier this year Suzanne took up her dream role in the West End; Roxie Hart in Chicago. She now balances her time between being a full time mum to her three year old Son, Corey, and working on stage and screen.
