Pre-paid Non-Reloadable Card
Terms and Conditions of use of the pre-paid facility
1 These terms and conditions apply to any holder of this Pre-paid Card (“the Card”). By using the Pre-Paid facility on the Card you are demonstrating your agreement to these terms and conditions.
2 The Card is issued by MBNA Europe Bank Limited, Registered Office: Stansfield House, Chester Business Park, Chester CH4 9QQ. Registered in England No. 2783251. MBNA is authorised and regulated in the UK by the Financial Services Authority to issue e-money and is a subscriber to The Banking Code.
3 The fee to issue a Card is £2 per customer. It is a pre-paid product which can be used to pay for goods and services at retailers that display the Visa symbol in the United Kingdom. Sign the Card before using and present it at the time of payment. Use it in full or part payment of goods. You must not make purchases that exceed the balance of funds available on the Card. You must not make any single purchase that exceeds £250.00. Your balance will be immediately reduced by the amount of each purchase you make. If any purchase takes you over your available funds, the transaction will be declined. You must not use the Card after its expiry date. If any balance remains on the Card after the expiry date, it will not be refunded. MBNA is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or any other aspect of any goods or services purchased with the Card. MBNA is not liable for the failure of any merchant to honour the Card.
4 You cannot use the Card to make purchases via the internet, mail order or any other situation where the card holder is not otherwise present. The Card cannot be used to obtain cash through ATMs or banks and there is no cash back facility. Although this Card has the word “Debit” upon it, it is not a debit card supported by a bank account, and is not in any way connected to a bank account. It is also not a guarantee card, charge card or credit card. You will not earn any interest on any funds loaded on to the Card. The Card cannot be exchanged for cash without going through the redemption process outlined at paragraph 5 below. You cannot top up the balance on this Card.You must not use the Card for preauthorised regular payments or for any illegal purposes, or for gambling.
5 Until the expiry date shown on the Card, and provided your balance is more than £7, you can redeem the total balance by returning to the Customer Service desk where the Card was purchased. You will be charged a fee of £3 to cover redemption costs and you will be reminded of this before redemption. You cannot redeem only part of the balance and any unspent promotional amounts that MBNA may have added to the Card will be deducted from the balance prior to redemption.

7. MBNA may restrict access to your Card account if MBNA notices suspicious or
potentially illegal activities.
7 MBNA is not liable if your Card is used without your permission, or is lost, stolen or destroyed. In such circumstances, MBNA may disclose to law enforcement agencies, any information which we reasonably believe may be relevant. MBNA will not refund your balance or replace your Card in such circumstances and there is no compensation scheme. MBNA will not be liable if they or their service providers are prevented from providing usual services due to anything outside their reasonable control (for example, industrial action or failure of computer systems etc).
8 In case of errors or disputes about transactions call the Customer Service Line on 0808 2389010 which is a low rate call. The Card is an e-money product, and as such it is not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. In the unlikely event that MBNA becomes insolvent, your funds may become valueless and unusable, and as a result you may lose your money.
9 MBNA may change or add to these terms and conditions at any time, where MBNA reasonably considers it necessary to do so. If MBNA make any changes, MBNA will publicise this at www.mycardaccount.info.
10 MBNA may monitor and/or record telephone calls between you and us or our service providers.
11 If you would like to make a complaint, please write to us at MBNA Europe Bank Limited, PO Box 1004, Chester Business Park, Wrexham Road, Chester CH4 9WW. MBNA has procedures in place to make sure that we handle your complaint fairly and quickly. However, if you are not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint, you can write to the Financial Ombudsman Service at South Quay Plaza, 183 Marsh Wall, London E14 9SR.
12 This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales.
